The Lie-a-lot Room

Lie-a-lot

After Paul had written a number of parodies used by Rush Limbaugh
on his radio show, people who had privately heard Paul's growing collection
urged him to put them in an album and make them available to the public.

The result was Lie-a-lot.

The takeoff on the "Camelot" tag the media had bestowed
upon the Clinton administration set the tone for the album, which featured
venerable Dittohead favorites such as The Little First Lady With Megalomania
(Rush's original "Hillary Rodham Clinton Update Theme"),
The Chipwonks (a perennial EIB Christmas season treat) and Taxman.

In order to complete the album, Paul wrote a number of new parodies
which proved to be among the best on the album, such as the title tune Lie-a-lot,
He Gets Around, Hillary Clinton's Socialist Health Care Plan
and Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Liberal Bummers.

The Little First Lady Hugs Bill

The Little First Lady With Megalomania

As Rush's original "Hillary Rodham Clinton Update Theme", this is one of Paul's most widely-heard parodies, and still one of his best. Based on Jan & Dean's The Little Old Lady From Pasadena.

He Gets Around

He Gets Around

He sure does. Just ask Gennifer, Paula, etc., etc. "The Beach Boys" do the honors here in this parody of I Get Around, and the mid-song break is, shall we say, "interesting".

Algore Frees Bill

Whitewater Debacle

Based on "Winchester Cathedral", this song poses the musical question "Will Bill be able to get a pardon from President Gore?" (Oh-boh-di-oh-doh).

Lie-a-lot

Lie-a-lot

Playing off Sir Richard Burton's version of "Camelot" from the legendary Broadway show, Sir Richard would have appreciated both the voice impression and the humor. The crown jewel of the album!

HRC's Health Care Plan

Hillary Clinton's Socialist Health Care Plan

From the Lost Tapes archive: "John", "Paul", "George" and "Ringo" actually got together on one other occasion - to have a little fun with the First Lady by spoofing their short, reprise version of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". Simply Fab!

The Chipwonks

The Chipwonks

Alvin, Theodore and Simon have nothing on "Hillary", "Janet" and "Algore". A perennial EIB Christmas season favorite. And yes, Paul actually does do all of the Chipwonk voices (as well as the instruments)!

Taxman

Taxman

Based on The Beatles' Taxman, this was the first of Paul's parodies to be played on Rush's show. A Dittohead classic!

Lazy, Hazy Bummers

Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Liberal Bummers

"Cleaning House" after 40 years. Based on Nat King Cole's "Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer".
